Engineer – Machinery System
Sirius Design & Integration is a ship design and systems integration company in the heart of the maritime cluster on Sunnmøre. We're growing, with a solid project portfolio, and are looking for an Engineer – Machinery Systems to lead the machinery discipline in our concept and basic design deliveries.
- Design and dimensioning of propulsion plant and machinery – main engines, gears, shafting, propellers/thrusters and auxiliaries
- Machinery space arrangement and equipment layout
- Piping system design: fuel, lube oil, cooling water, ballast, bilge/fire, compressed air and hydraulics
- System diagrams (P&IDs), capacity and pressure-drop calculations, pump and heat-exchanger sizing
- Technical specifications and maker's lists; vendor interface and bid evaluation
- Class and flag interface (DNV, SOLAS/MARPOL) for machinery and piping
- BSc/MSc in mechanical or marine engineering
- Strong understanding of shipboard machinery, propulsion and piping systems
- Experience from ship design, shipowner, yard or equipment supplier (relevant marine engineer / sea-time background is a plus)
- Familiarity with class rules and design tools (Cadmatic, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar)
- Structured, accurate, and a good communicator in English (Norwegian an advantage)
